Repsol Innovation Centre – About

The Edson and District Recycling Depot is getting a solar-electric system in order to demonstrate this new and exciting technology.  The 17.6 kW system will consist of 70 solar-electric modules and 70 grid-dependent inverters mounted parallel to the south roof at an angle of 18°.  The system will generate 16,500 kWh of energy per year (enough for more than two homes) and reduce the Depot’s annual electric energy consumption and electricity emissions by 38%.  Excess energy will be exported to Fortis’ electrical grid and purchased by its Energy Retailer.
